Liquid Sky is the San Francisco Bay Area‘s premier Jimi Hendrix tribute band. Fred Mabunga (Founder and Frontman) formed this tribute in 2011 out of the love and passion for Jimi's music. It’s my mission to keep his music and legacy alive for generations to come.
Catch them live and of course you'll hear all the hits such as Fire, Red House, Voo Doo Child, and Purple Haze, but if you can catch one of their more lengthy sets you'll hear the deeper cuts such as Burning of the Midnight Lamp, Little Miss Lover, Dolly Dagger, Freedom and rarities that will satisfy even the hardest core Hendrix fans. It’s always a new experience everytime we play together, because the current line up thrives on improve and playing in the moment. It’s all about creating a vibe. You’ll hear renditions taken from iconic performances e.g. Winterland, Monterey Pop Festival, Woodstock and Royal Albert Hall. We will also take you through Jimi’s transitional era from the last concerts of the Cry of Love tour and Band of Gypsys era. Please welcome Bo Freeman and Robin Bordow to the Liquid Sky family!!

If you don’t see your favorite Hendrix tune on our setlist, let us know and we will try to add it. Our Setlist is always changing, and we never play anything the same twice. We take from many of the bootlegs and a lot of the songs are extended and highly improvisational
